There is no question that gymnastics is considered one of the most popular sports all over the world. Many people find this type of sport interesting because of the breath-taking aesthetics that its players perform. Apparently, this sport makes the gymnast look extremely graceful while performing incredibly difficult programs. It requires a great deal of fitness, agility, flexibility, strength, and skill to be able to know how to perform gymnastics.
The following three female gymnasts are top of their class.
Larisa Latynina, a Soviet artistic gymnast, has brought home 14 Olympic medals. These were achievements from both individual and team events. She had a total of 18 Olympic medals, which remains unbeaten for 48 years.
Svetlana Khorkina, a Russian artistic gymnast, has gained a total of seven medals from the 1996 Summer Olympics, 2000 Summer Olympics and 2004 Summer Olympics. She has collected twenty medals from the World Championships on top of her Olympic performances. Only Svetlana was able to bring home the award from the three World Championships titles.
Nadia Elena Comăneci was also an exceptional gymnast. She's a former Romanian artistic gymnast who was the first to have a perfect score of 10 in an event. She had three gold medals from the 1976 Montreal Summer Olympics and won two gold medals at the Moscow Summer Olympics in 1980.
